Ok—is passive income REALLY passive? It’s one of the most common questions out there in our digital space.
And unfortunately, one of the most lied-about questions out on the internet. I’m not here to sugar coat it for ya. So let’s dive in.
The people making millions of dollars on a course tend to leave out how they had multiple failed course launches, or that they have worked their tail off for years to get to this point, or that they have an entire team working for them, or….
Or that they have spent a hundred gazillion dollars on social media ads.
None of that is passive.
But there are product options out there waiting to be created that are much more passive than you think.
And those typically come in the form of digital products instead of digital courses.
Do you still have to create it? Yep.
Do you still have to market it? Obviously.
But when you fill a void that was out there, it makes it so much easier for people to say, “yes” and buy your thing.
Let me tell you a story about a young Magan…well not that young. This was just a few years ago.
I have a product that I spent 1-hour on. It was truly 1-hour on a Sunday afternoon. The kids were napping or hanging out watching a movie, the husband was outside mowing the lawn. I took that product that was for photographers, priced at $39 and I have sold nearly 300 units of that one product. That’s over $11,000 from one single product.
Now in full transparency, not all of my products are this easy to create. Some take a few days to get “just right” and some have taken months to get them fully ready for my audience—such as my self-liquidating offer sequence funnel over in The Email Template Shop. It’s so comprehensive that it took a few months to get it put together WELL.
But there is magic in the small stuff, in the things that make life easier for your customer.
I have a friend who sells Meal Planning Templates, and I LOVE them. It makes meal planning for my family of 5 much quicker each week.
I know someone else who creates digital planner templates for other business owners to go forth and create their own digital planner templates. Those have been wildly successful for her because this makes creating a digital planner much easier on those other business owners.
Now if you’re wondering what the heck you can go create and not sure how you can spin your current offerings into a digital product, I have three things for you.
If this episode inspires you, leave a review and share your biggest takeaway with me! And while you’ve got your phone out, go ahead and do these 3 things:
